Veterans Affairs / General Relief Director

Under general supervision of the Tama County Commission of Veteran Affairs, adhere to office Policy and Procedures. Provides assistance with veteran programs in accordance with Chapter 35B of the Code of Iowa. Assists veterans and/or their eligible dependents in securing local, state, and federal benefits resulting from eligible service in the United States Armed Forces. Provide outreach services to veterans and serve as a veteran advocate in the community.
As the General Assistance Director, the position monitors the General Assistance Program and budget. This would include referring applicants to additional Social Welfare programs within the County.
